The best twenty minutes of your day
Custom Backyard Saunas
It's the part of the day you look forward to most.
Out the back door before the rest of the house is up, into the heat. Twenty quiet minutes to breathe, think, pray, or just sit in silence. Your shoulders looser, your head clearer, the morning calmer than it would have been otherwise. That's why people build saunas. To take care of yourself, every day.
Why people use them every day.
People have been using saunas for thousands of years for a reason. Here's what regular use actually does. The parts you'll feel in the first week.
You sleep better.
Heat resets the body's rhythm. Most people who add a sauna to their morning notice deeper, more restful sleep within the first week.
Sore muscles loosen up.
Tight backs, stiff shoulders, and joints that ache after work or a workout. The heat opens everything up. Studies show real, measurable relief for chronic lower back pain.
Stress quiets down.
Twenty minutes in the heat with no phone and nothing to do. Anxiety drops. The noise in your head drops. You walk out steadier than you walked in.
It's good for your heart.
Heat does for your cardiovascular system what light exercise does. It raises your heart rate and opens your blood vessels. Long-term use is linked to better heart health.
We've been building saunas the whole time.
Most people in Utah know us for our sheds. We've been building those since 1997, right out of Kaysville, all up and down the Wasatch Front. What fewer people know is that the same crew has been quietly building custom saunas the whole time. We just never made a point of advertising it, but the health benefits are
A Wright's sauna is built by the same hands, with the same materials, and to the same standard as the sheds we've been delivering for nearly thirty years. Same framing, same cedar interior, same metal cladding, same roof system.
If you've seen one of our sheds, you've seen the work that goes into a Wright's sauna.
These aren't barrels or kits.
They're built like our sheds, just heated.
Every Wright's backyard sauna is custom-built from the ground up.
Outside: Cedar facing on the front. Standing-seam metal on the sides and roof. Black trim throughout. Cedar where you see and touch it. Metal everywhere else, shielding the cedar so it lasts.
Inside: All cedar. Tongue-and-groove walls and ceiling. Wide bench seating, single or two-tier depending on the size. Recessed lighting. A solid cedar door with iron hardware. The kind of space that feels good the second you step into it.
From a quiet corner to a full backyard centerpiece.
We've built saunas as small as a six-by-six and as big as an eight-by-twelve. Tell us how many people will use it and we'll recommend the right size.
The Quiet Corner
The smallest size we build. Tucks neatly into the corner of a yard. Plenty of room for one person stretched out, or two sitting together. The most popular size for couples.
The Family Build
The middle of the range. Comfortable for three or four, with room to spread out. Two-tier benches available for the heat lovers who like to sit higher.
The Full Build
Our biggest. Fits five or six comfortably. The kind of sauna that becomes a real backyard centerpiece. Somewhere you and your family use every morning. Somewhere your friends ask about when they come over.
Or anything in between. Every Wright's sauna is custom.
Built like we'd build our own.
Every sauna we build is framed and finished to the same standard as the sheds we've been delivering since 1997. Here's what that means.
Built to Last for Decades
Same framing, same siding, same roof system as the sheds we've been warrantying for nearly thirty years.
Quality Materials, Top to Bottom
Tongue-and-groove cedar throughout. Cast iron hinges. A door that latches like a door should.
Designed for Utah Weather
Heavy snow, hard freezes, dry summer heat. Built for all of it.
Sized for Your Space
Whether it's a corner of the yard or the centerpiece of a backyard build, we size it to fit and finish it to match.
No Cut Corners
Every joint, every cut, every piece of trim is finished by hand. The work you can't see is held to the same standard as the work you can.
Family-Owned Since 1997
The same family that's been building sheds for nearly thirty years is the same family building your sauna.
Every angle of a Wright's sauna.
Answers to what people usually ask.
Built right and properly used, a quality cedar sauna lasts twenty-five years or more. The structure outlasts the heater — most cedar saunas hold up for decades. Heaters typically last ten to fifteen years before they need to be replaced, but the building they're inside doesn't go anywhere. Same construction approach we apply to every shed we've built since 1997.
We build the structure. Framing, cedar inside and out, roof, door, benches, lighting, hardware. The heater and electrical are handled by a licensed electrician on your end.
We size each one to your space and how you'll use it. We've built saunas as small as a six-by-six and as big as an eight-by-twelve. A sauna for one or two people is smaller and tucks into a corner of the yard. A sauna built for a family or for entertaining is larger. Tell us how you want to use it and we'll size it right.
Your sauna needs a level surface to sit on. Most customers go with a concrete pad, gravel base, or a treated wood platform. We'll talk through what works best for your yard and how you want to use the space when we put together your quote.
Yes. That's actually when most people use a sauna the most. Our builds are framed, sided, and roofed for Utah weather — heavy snow loads, hard freezes, and dry summer heat. Stepping out of a hot sauna into the snow is half the point.
For most Wright's sauna sizes in most Utah cities, no — accessory structures under 200 square feet generally don't require a building permit. But setback rules and HOA covenants still apply, and electrical work always requires a permit through your electrician. Rules vary city by city, so we'd recommend a quick call to your local building department before delivery. We've put together a guide to Utah building codes for accessory structures if you want to read up on what applies to your area.
Spring is our busiest season and the schedule fills up fast. Reach out early and we'll give you a real timeline based on what's already on the calendar. We deliver custom backyard saunas anywhere along the Wasatch Front and through most of Utah and Idaho.
